PlusSmart Vietnam · Predictive maintenance for pumps and rotating equipment

PlusSmart – know before the pump fails, instead of fixing it after the plant stops

PlusSmart Technology (Singapore) brings a complete condition-monitoring and data-analytics toolkit for pumps, motors, fans and gearboxes to plants in Vietnam: wireless vibration sensors, online oil monitoring, electrical signature analysis at the MCC, smart VFD pump control, mechanical seals and AI cameras – with pump engineers who read the data for you.

PlusSmart predictive maintenance for pumps and rotating equipment
In plain words: pumps and motors rarely fail “suddenly”. Weeks before failure they vibrate more, run hotter, contaminate their oil and distort their current – the signs are simply too small for human eyes and ears. PlusSmart gives machines senses, reads those signals and tells you which machine needs work, what work, and when.

Why predictive maintenance is the cheapest in the long run

Strategy What you do Advantage Drawback
Run-to-failure (reactive) Run until the machine stops No monitoring effort Unplanned downtime, secondary damage, highest repair cost
Preventive (time-based) Replace and service on a fixed schedule Easy to plan Replaces good parts; failures still happen between intervals
Condition-based Measure vibration, oil, temperature periodically or continuously Intervene only when needed Needs instruments and people to read the data
Predictive Track trends and forecast when failure will occur Repair at the right time, order parts in advance, least downtime Initial investment in sensors and analytics

Reliability engineering describes failure with the P-F curve: from point P (a defect becomes detectable) to point F (functional failure) typically takes weeks to months. Each technology “sees” the defect at a different point: oil and wear-debris analysis and electrical signature analysis usually see it first, then high-frequency vibration, then overall vibration; temperature and noise appear last – often only days before failure. The earlier you detect, the more time you have to prepare parts and choose when to stop.

Four steps: Measure – Understand – Predict – Act

  1. MeasureSignals from vibration and temperature (i-ALERT), oil (Poseidon Trident), electrical (ElectroSine), drives (ReliaPump), cameras (PlusVision) and data already in your DCS, SCADA and historian.
  2. UnderstandPlusSmart pump engineers and the analytics platform learn each machine’s baseline and separate abnormal signals from normal process variation.
  3. PredictRank assets from good to bad, flag “bad actors”, estimate remaining time and the cost of letting them fail.
  4. ActConcrete actions – align shafts, replace bearings, change seals, retune pump control – then measure again to prove the result.

What problem do you have? Pick the right solution

i-ALERT wireless vibration sensori-ALERT® – wireless vibration sensorPumps, motors and fans with repeated bearing failures, misalignment, unbalance. Magnetic mount, no cabling.
ReliaPump smart VFD pump controlReliaPump™ – smart VFD pump controlRepeated seal failures, dry running, dead-heading, water hammer, high energy use in multi-pump stations.
PlusSmart Analytics pump data analysisPlusSmart Analytics – pump data analysisYou have DCS, SCADA and historian data but nobody reads it; you need asset ranking and maintenance budgets.
Poseidon Trident online oil monitoringPoseidon Trident™ – online oil monitoringCritical gearboxes, turbines and compressors; oil quality and wear debris every day instead of every quarter.
ElectroSine electrical signature analysisElectroSine – motor diagnostics from the MCCRemote, elevated, submersible or hazardous-area motors; rotor, stator and power-quality faults.
Flexaseal mechanical sealsFlexaseal – mechanical seals and seal supportSeals failing within months, high-temperature and high-pressure pumps, slurry, large pumps needing in-place seal changes.
PlusVision AI cameraPlusVision™ – industrial AI cameraLeaks, tank overflow, smoke and fire, PPE, restricted-zone intrusion – alerts generated at the edge.

Choosing technology by failure mode

Failure mode Vibration (i-ALERT) Oil (Trident) Electrical (ElectroSine) Drive data (ReliaPump)
Unbalance, misalignment, looseness Excellent – Good Limited
Bearing and gear wear Good Excellent, earliest for gearboxes Good –
Oil degradation, water ingress – Excellent – –
Broken rotor bars, stator turn faults Limited – Excellent –
Cavitation, dry running, dead-head Sees the consequences – Good Excellent – prevented by control
Power quality, harmonics, voltage unbalance – – Excellent Partial

No single sensor sees every failure. The effective approach is to start with the most critical assets, choose the technology that matches each machine’s failure modes, and let PlusSmart Analytics bring everything into one ranking.

Frequently asked questions

Who is PlusSmart?

PlusSmart Technology Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore-based reliability and predictive-maintenance company. It distributes i-ALERT, Poseidon Systems, ElectroSine and Flexaseal in the region and develops its own ReliaPump, PlusSmart Analytics and PlusVision solutions. In Vietnam, Mr. Hoan Tran is Sales Director under PlusSmart’s appointment letter.

Is predictive maintenance worth it for a small plant?

Start with the machines whose single stoppage is most expensive: main water-supply pumps, boiler fans, compressors, production-line gearboxes. Five to ten measurement points are enough to see the value.

Do we have to replace our PLC or SCADA?

No. PlusSmart solutions run alongside and integrate with existing systems; data can go to your SCADA, historian or a cloud platform depending on your security requirements.

Prices and lead times?

Quotations and lead times are confirmed directly by PlusSmart Technology for the specific configuration after the site assessment.
