- 316L

Overview
The Bürkert Type 2000 angle-seat valve is the standard on/off process valve for steam, hot water, cleaning agents and gases in food, pharmaceutical and chemical plants. The 316L stainless body with a PTFE seat gives a high Kv and long life — several million switching cycles — and the piston actuator in PA or stainless steel is maintenance free, with position indicator and optional limit switches or a Type 8690 control head for valve-island integration. Available in DN10 to DN65 with threaded, clamp or weld ends and flow under or over the seat; the DN20 G3/4 NC example is typical for CIP and steam lines. The valve pairs with Type 8692 positioners when control duty is required (Type 2300 globe valve).

Frequently asked questions
Flow under seat or over seat — which should I specify?
Flow under the seat (standard) gives the highest Kv and lets the valve drain; flow over the seat prevents water hammer when closing against high flow. We confirm with the application.
Can the Type 2000 be used for steam?
Yes. The PTFE seat and 316L body handle saturated steam up to 185 °C; for higher temperatures and pressures we recommend the Type 2012 globe valve.
Is the Type 2000 available from stock, and what is the lead time?
Common sizes DN15–DN25 with threaded ends are typically 1–3 weeks; clamp/weld ends and control-head assemblies 3–5 weeks. We confirm with the quotation.
