Overview
The iTEMP TMT82 accepts two sensors — RTD or thermocouple, in any combination — and keeps the loop alive if one fails by switching to the backup automatically. It also compares the two sensors to detect drift and monitors thermocouple corrosion, so problems are flagged before they corrupt a measurement. HART 7 communication and SIL2 certification make it the transmitter of choice for reactor, pipeline and steam temperature points where a single sensor failure is not acceptable.
