Overview
The Hirschmann BOBCAT (BRS) series is the current generation of compact managed switches running HiOS, with Fast and Gigabit Ethernet, PoE and fibre options in a slim DIN-rail housing. The BRS20-8TX-EEC is the 8-port Fast Ethernet model with extended temperature and conformal coating: it supports MRP, HIPER-Ring, RSTP and Ring Coupling, VLAN, IGMP snooping and QoS, and provides IEC 62443-4-2 security features such as role-based access, secure boot and signed firmware. PROFINET and EtherNet/IP conformance, a web interface and HiVision/Industrial HiVision management make it the direct successor to the RS20 in automation and utility networks.
