Overview
The Hirschmann RS20 is the long-standing managed switch for industrial ring networks, with HiPER-Ring (< 50 ms recovery), MRP, RSTP and Ring/Network Coupling for redundant topologies. The RS20-0800T1T1SDAEHH (943434022) has eight 10/100BASE-TX ports, enhanced software (VLAN, IGMP snooping, QoS, port security, SNMP v3, SSH, 802.1X) and the standard RS housing with redundant 24 V DC input and a signal contact. Management is via web, CLI or HiVision/HiDiscovery, and configuration can be stored on the ACA21 adapter for fast replacement. The RS20 family includes fibre, Gigabit (RS30/RS40) and extended-temperature variants and remains widely used in utility and water SCADA networks.

Is the RS20 still available, or should I move to BOBCAT?
The RS20 remains available for expansion of existing networks; for new designs Hirschmann recommends the BOBCAT (BRS) series, which supports the same ring protocols plus Gigabit and IEC 62443 features. We quote both.
Can the RS20 join a ring with Siemens switches?
Yes, via MRP (Media Redundancy Protocol), the IEC 62439-2 standard supported by both; HiPER-Ring is Hirschmann-only.
Is the RS20 available from stock, and what is the lead time?
