Overview
ADMAG AXG is Yokogawa's current-generation electromagnetic flowmeter for conductive liquids, replacing the long-running ADMAG AXF. Dual-frequency excitation gives a stable zero on slurries and high-noise fluids, and the standard accuracy is ±0.15 % of rate — ±0.1 % as an option. The "Total Insight" concept covers the full lifecycle: built-in verification without removing the meter, diagnostic logs, electrode-adhesion detection and empty-pipe detection. Liner options from PFA and polyurethane to natural rubber cover water, wastewater, food, mining and chemical duties. The example code is a DN50 integral meter with PFA liner and 316L electrodes; we configure liner, electrode material, grounding and flange standard with you.
Key features
- Accuracy ±0.15 % of rate (±0.1 % optional) with dual-frequency excitation for noisy and slurry flows
- Sizes DN2.5 to DN500 (AXG) and up to DN1800 with AXW; integral or remote converter
- Built-in verification, diagnostic trend logs and electrode adhesion diagnosis
- Liners: PFA, polyurethane, natural/soft rubber, ceramic; electrodes 316L, Hastelloy C, tantalum, platinum
- 4–20 mA HART 7, pulse/status outputs; FOUNDATION Fieldbus, PROFIBUS PA, Modbus options; SIL2
Typical applications
- Raw and treated water, dosing and chemical lines
- Pulp, mining slurries and sludge
- CIP and product lines in food plants (hygienic variants)
- Custody-transfer and billing water meters

Frequently asked questions
Can I replace an ADMAG AXF with an AXG without changing piping?
Yes. The AXG keeps the same face-to-face lengths and flange standards as the AXF for the same nominal size, so a swap is usually mechanical bolt-for-bolt. Converter wiring changes slightly; we provide the cross-reference.
What liner should I choose for wastewater?
Polyurethane or hard rubber for abrasive sludge and grit, PFA for chemical dosing lines and any CIP duty. We ask for the medium and temperature before quoting a liner.
Is the ADMAG AXG available from stock, and what is the lead time?
Common water sizes DN50–DN300 in PFA or rubber are typically 4–8 weeks; special liners and large sizes longer. We confirm with the quotation.
