Overview
The Advantech ADAM-4017+ is an 8-channel 16-bit analog input module on RS-485, accepting voltage (±150 mV to ±10 V) or current (0/4–20 mA) per channel with individual range configuration, and speaking Modbus RTU or the ADAM ASCII protocol. It is the standard way to bring 4–20 mA transmitter signals into a SCADA or data logger over a serial bus, with 3,000 V DC isolation and a burn-out detection on current ranges. Modules are configured with the ADAM utility or by Modbus commands and daisy-chained on RS-485 up to 1.2 km; the ADAM-4000 family includes digital I/O, RTD/TC inputs, analog outputs and RS-485 repeaters.
