Overview
The Advantech EKI-2528 is a cost-effective 8-port unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch in a slim metal housing, with redundant 12–48 V DC power inputs and a relay contact for power-failure alarm. It supports auto-negotiation, auto MDI/MDI-X, flow control and store-and-forward switching, and operates from -10…+70 °C (the EKI-2528I version extends to -40…+75 °C). It is the typical in-cabinet switch for ADAM-6000 modules, HMIs and PLCs in SCADA projects and small machine networks; the EKI family also includes managed (EKI-7000/9000) and PoE models.

Is the EKI-2528 suitable for PROFINET?
For small in-panel networks yes; it forwards PROFINET RT traffic without configuration. For IRT or ring redundancy use a managed switch.
