Overview
The OPTIWAVE 5200 is KROHNE's 24 GHz FMCW radar for liquid level in storage and process tanks, with Drop antennas in PP or PTFE that are flush, non-fouling and chemically resistant, plus metallic horn antennas for high temperature and pressure. FMCW signal processing keeps the measurement stable in agitated, foaming or vapour-laden tanks, and the measuring range reaches 30 m with ±2 mm accuracy. Setup takes a few minutes through the quick-start wizard, and the full echo curve is available on the display and via PACTware. Versions with second compartment and remote display suit high-temperature or inaccessible nozzles.

Frequently asked questions
Should I choose a 24 GHz or an 80 GHz radar?
80 GHz (OPTIWAVE 7500) gives a narrow beam for small nozzles, tall narrow tanks and internal obstacles. 24 GHz (OPTIWAVE 5200) is more tolerant of heavy condensation and build-up and works well in large storage tanks. We recommend by tank geometry and medium.
Can the PTFE Drop antenna handle acids?
Yes. The PTFE Drop antenna is fully encapsulated and flush with the process, so it tolerates aggressive chemicals and resists product build-up.
Is the OPTIWAVE 5200 available from stock, and what is the lead time?
Typical factory lead time is 3–5 weeks. We confirm with the quotation.
