Overview
The SMC SY series is the world's best-selling pneumatic directional valve, and the SY5120-5LZD-01 is the standard 5/2 single-solenoid body-ported version with Rc1/8 ports, rubber seal, 24 V DC coil, L-type plug-in lead-wire connector and built-in LED and surge suppressor ("Z"). Flow rate (C value) is 2.2 dm³/(s·bar) — enough for cylinders up to about Ø63 mm — and the valve can be used individually or on SY5000 bar-stock or plug-in manifolds with serial transmission units (EX260/EX600) for fieldbus integration. The SY5000 family offers double-solenoid, 3-position closed/exhaust/pressure centre, metal-seal versions and a wide range of connector types.

Frequently asked questions
What cylinder size can an SY5120 drive?
With C = 2.2 dm³/(s·bar) it comfortably drives cylinders up to about Ø63 mm at normal speeds; for Ø80–100 mm choose the SY7000 (C ≈ 4.1).
Can I use the same valve on a manifold later?
The body-ported -01 valve is for individual mounting; manifold use needs the base-mounted SY5100/SY5200 variant. We check which you need before quoting.
