Overview

The Autonics MT4W is a 96 × 48 mm (1/8 DIN) digital panel meter for DC or AC voltage and current, with multiple ranges selectable by DIP switch and a 4-digit display scalable to engineering units. The -DA model measures DC current (including 4–20 mA from any transmitter), the -DV model DC voltage and the -AA/-AV models AC. Two NO relay outputs (HI/LO) provide alarms, and options add RS-485 Modbus RTU communication and an isolated 4–20 mA or 0–10 V retransmission output. Display scaling, decimal point and hysteresis are set from the front keys, which makes the MT4W a quick way to display and alarm a transmitter signal without a PLC.

Frequently asked questions

Can the MT4W display a 4–20 mA signal in engineering units?

Yes. The -DA model accepts 4–20 mA and scales it to any 4-digit value with decimal point, for example 0.0–100.0 % or 0–5000 L/h.

Can I retransmit the reading to a PLC?

With the retransmission option the meter outputs an isolated 4–20 mA or 0–10 V; with RS-485 the value is read over Modbus RTU.
